Our Journey
Founder and CEO Nigel Tooth began his career as a bus operator in regional New South Wales, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges operators face—managing compliance, meeting government reporting requirements, and keeping services running smoothly. Inspired by these insights, he set out to create technology that simplifies life for operators, drivers, and passengers alike.
From these beginnings, transportme has evolved into a next-generation transit management ecosystem, delivering seamless solutions for ticketing, tracking, operations, fleet management, and passenger engagement—all in one smart, connected platform.
transportme is born and installed in Ryans Bus Service, Coffs Harbour
transportme expands throughout NSW and QLD into over 300 vehicles and 25 companies
2019
transportme wins Queensland School Ticketing contract to be deployed into 1000 school buses statewide
2020
transportme deployed in over 1500 vehicles in every state in Australia and has global deployments
2023
transportme wins Transport for NSW contract for the Contactless Ticketing Solution to be deployed in over 400 buses throughout rural and regional NSW

Nigel Tooth
Founder & CEO
Nigel is the Founder and CEO of transportme, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in the transport and business industries. Nigel formerly managed his family’s 73 year old bus company, and he has also served as Chairperson of the NSW North Coast Branch, driving innovation and leadership in public transport

Cheryl Lintott
Operations Manager
Cheryl brings deep business and strategic expertise across commercial, industrial, government, not for profit and startups sectors. Cheryl is focused on driving scaleable and sustainable business growth strategies, and is a vocal advocate for diversity, equity, respect and inclusion.

Lee Whincup
Business Development Manager
Lee brings deep experience in enterprise software sales, business development, and operations across ANZ, ASEAN and global markets. Lee is focused on identifying and securing growth opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and delivering value-driven outcomes for our operators.

Aaina Gupta
Service Delivery Manager
With 17 years of experience, Aaina specialises in business transformations and delivery. As a technology leader, Aaina has worked for small- to large-sized companies in the technology sector and also holds a Bachelor of Software Engineering from University of Technology, Sydney and an MBA from MGSM.

Jake is a results-driven product leader with deep expertise in SaaS, fintech, and adtech innovation. Solution Support Manager
John comes from a long line of ‘bussies’, with his family operation still based in Queensland. His experience in the Bus Industry as well as working with the transportme solution will ensure that you – our clients – are well looked after and have the transportme ecosystem running to its optimum.

Shannon Guz
Hardware Manager & Client Support
Shannon brings over four years of experience to the transportme team, with a strong background in customer service and operational support. Originally from Coffs Harbour and now settled in sunny Queensland, Shannon has become a valued team member known for his quick learning, attention to detail, and dry sense of humour—traits that make him a natural fit in the transport industry.

Damian Pooley
Lead Software Engineer
Damian has over two decades of enterprise, government and commercial software development and technology delivery. He moves effortlessly from the compiler to the C-Suite solving problems and setting strategies large and small. His longest bus trip was 8 hours crammed in with other backpackers and his most risky trip was going over the Hindu Kush.

Annie is a dedicated member of the team, supporting both clients and internal operations with professionalism and efficiency. She plays an active role in customer support, ensuring inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively. In addition to her support role, Annie contributes to internal testing to help maintain the quality and performance of our products.
